Delivering new capabilities that address the real-world scenarios companies face as they look to grow in today’s global economy, Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, announced the latest version of its enterprise resource planning (ERP) business software, Epicor ERP.

More than 350 customers are live on the new Epicor ERP 10.1 release -- available in the cloud, hosted, or on premises. Building on the success of Epicor ERP 10, the first post-modern platform built for collaboration and mobility out-of-the-box, the new version further advances the five principles of Epicor ERP -- Collaboration, Mobility, Choice, Responsiveness and Simplicity -- with increased functionality across the breadth of the application to help support business growth, reduce business complexity and streamline how businesses interact with ERP systems.

Expanded Mobile Framework enables access Anytime, Anywhere

This new release also leverages Epicor’s continued investment in creating a new mobile framework that supports responsive design and a modern user experience on virtually any mobile device -- smartphones and tablets of all shapes and sizes -- for anytime, anywhere information access. The new mobile framework is the foundation for delivering the completely redesigned mobile dashboard application. Offering the same rich visual and navigational user experience that users have come to expect from any mobile application, the redesigned mobile dashboard application connects users from varying roles within an organization to the right slices of ERP data from anywhere on any device. By leveraging the power of existing Epicor ERP Dashboard and Business Activity Query functionality, the mobile dashboard application makes users more productive by providing them with the information they need at their fingertips and allowing them to update that information in real time. Beyond delivering the mobile dashboard application, Epicor will continue to leverage the foundation laid by the new mobile framework to build additional task- and role-oriented mobile “apps”.

New Features Extend Deep Functionality for Financial Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Global Operations

Additionally, the latest version of Epicor ERP delivers more powerful “out-of-the-box” functionality, continuing to enhance Epicor’s award-winning return on investment and ease of use. Further enhancements build on the experience of thousands of customers leveraging the previous release of Epicor ERP, incorporating many new and extended capabilities focused on simplifying the end user experience and improved ease-of-use.

Users have access to more than 300 enhanced features that build on Epicor’s core strengths across key manufacturing and supply chain functionality such as: inventory and material management, purchasing, shipping and receiving, quality assurance, project management and job scheduling, sales and CRM, quoting and order management, to name a few. Chief among these enhancements are expanded global and compliance capabilities. Broadened global capabilities include expanded country-specific functionality to enable companies to operate seamlessly in their geographies of choice.

“Epicor ERP is architected to flex to easily accommodate and support growth -- whether that’s an expanded user base, more product lines, or a broader market or geographic range,” said Malcolm Fox, vice president, product marketing, Epicor. “By providing the right technology, world‐class services and support, and an unwavering focus on driving improved business outcomes, Epicor is helping its customers’ realize their full growth potential.”

Early Success for Cloud and On-Premises Customers Move to the Newest Release

Epicor has made it easier and faster than ever before for customers to take advantage of new release functionality, as evidenced by the hundreds of customers that are already up and running on the newest version of Epicor ERP in the cloud and on premises.

Boers & Co. Fine Metalworking Group, a developer fine mechanical parts, high precision assembly and sheet metal products, went live on Epicor ERP 10.1 via a process that ICT Manager Jos Greeve characterized as “easy” and “straight forward.”

“I’d definitely advise customers to upgrade to the latest version of Epicor ERP,” Greeve said. Boers is leveraging new functionality including the powerful new integrated mobile dashboards, which Greeve says are working very well across all mobile devices with good speed and responsiveness, and which are giving Boers the ability to understand vital real-time answers to questions such as: What’s the status of this job? What’s the status of this packing slip? Who’s working on what in the factory? Are orders late?

Laser equipment supplier Access Laser Company recently moved from cloud deployed Epicor ERP 10 to the new version, “The move has been a smooth transition and we are already leveraging the new functionality. We especially like the enhanced enterprise search function, which enables us to locate sales orders and other data quickly and easily,” said Andrew Chamberlain, information technology specialist, Access Laser Company.

“Epicor continues to help support our growth -- giving us the platform to track, measure, and monitor every aspect of our business -- from production to invoicing, shop floor to top floor. The dashboards and Business Activity Queries offer a very succinct way of tracking to our Key Performance Indicators, providing critical insights on performance bottlenecks and areas for improvement,” said Chamberlain.
